I'm gonna preach a message tonight that has angered many, many, many churchmen.

저는 오늘 밤 수많은 교인들을 화나게 만들었던 메시지를 설교할 것입니다.

 

It seems we would rather hold on to a false hope than to hear the truth.

우리는 진리를 듣기보다 차라리 거짓 소망을 붙들기를 원하는 것 같습니다.

 

There are many people who do not want to hear the truth, because it will shake up the false hope they have that they are going to heaven, when indeed they're not.

많은 사람들은 자신들이 천국에 가지 못함에도 불구하고 자신들이 천국에 갈 것이라는 거짓 소망을 흔들어놓을 것이기 때문에 진리를 듣고 싶어하지 않습니다.

 

I hear people all over the world, especially in this country, tell me that they're saved.

세상 곳곳에서, 특히 이 나라에서, 사람들이 자신들이 구원받았다고 말하는 것을 듣게 됩니다.

 

And I ask them how do they know that they're saved.

그리고 저는 그들에게 그들이 구원을 받았는지 어떻게 아냐고 물어봅니다.

 

Well, because they believed.

(그들은) 그들이 믿었기 때문이라고 말합니다.

 

And no one asks them the second question...

그리고 아무도 그들에게 두번째 질문을 하지 않습니다...

 

"How do you know that you believe?"
"당신이 믿고 있다는 사실을 어떻게 압니까?"

The question is... 'How can we be sure that we believe?' when so many people say they believe, and we know they don't...
질문은... 수많은 사람들이 믿는다고 하면서 실제로는 믿지 않는다는 것을 알 수 있는데 '우리는 믿는다고 어떻게 확신할 수 있을까?'입니다.

How can you be assured that you're a true believer?
당신이 진정한 신자라고 어떻게 확신합니까?

How can you know that you're a true believer?
당신이 진정한 신자라는 것을 어떻게 압니까?

 

I've had people tell me, "Well, I just know that I know."

저에게 이렇게 말하는 사람들이 있습니다, "그냥, 제가 안다는 것을 알아요."

 

I tell them, "There is a way that seems right onto men, it leads to death."

저는 그들에게 말합니다, "어떤 길은 사람이 보기에 바르나 필경은 사망의 길이니라."

 

I've heard people tell me, "Well, I know in my heart of hearts that I am saved!"

사람들이 이렇게 말하는 것을 들은 적이 있습니다, "그냥, 제 마음의 중심으로 제가 구원받았다는 것을 알아요!"

 

The Bible says that the heart is deceitfully wicked.

성경은 만물보다 거짓되고 심히 부패한 것은 마음이라고 말합니다.

 

So do you really wanna trust a mind that is faulty?

그러니 정말로 불완전한 마음을 신뢰하고 싶으십니까?

 

Do you really wanna trust a heart that can be wicked?

정말로 악할 수 있는 중심을 신뢰하고 싶으십니까?

 

Test yourself!
자신을 시험하십시오!

 

This is not just some whimsical thing!

이것은 단지 무슨 엉뚱한 것이 아닙니다!

 

This is not just something to worry about for a day!

이것은 단지 하루 정도만 고민할 그런 것이 아닙니다!

 

We're talking about eternity!

우린 '영원'에 대해 얘기하고 있습니다!

 

Is it well with your soul?

당신의 영혼이 안녕합니까?

Examine yourself!
자신을 점검하십시오!

Take the Word of God and what the Word of God says about a 'true' christian, and examine yourself in light of it!
하나님의 말씀과 그 말씀이 '진정한' 그리스도인에 대해 뭐라고 하는지를 가지고 빛으로 삼아 자신을 점검하십시오!

And if you fall short of the test, repent and believe.
만약 그 시험기준에 도달하지 못한다면 회개하고 믿으십시오.

 

Throw yourself upon the mercy of God!

자신을 하나님의 긍휼에 내어던지십시오!

 

Cry out to Him until a work is done.

일이 완성될 때까지 그분께 부르짖으십시오!

 

Do you tremble at His Word?

그분의 말씀 앞에서 부들부들 떠십니까?

 

Or do you look for loopholes around it?

아니면 말씀으로부터 빠져나갈 구멍을 찾고 있습니까?

 

Do you excuse your sin?

당신의 죄에 대해 변명하십니까?

 

If you don't have a new relationship with sin, you don't have a new relationship with God.

만약 당신이 죄와 새로운 관계를 맺지 않았다면 당신은 하나님과 새로운 관계를 맺지 않은 것입니다.

 

If you don't have a new relationship with His Word, you don't have a new relationship with Him.

만약 당신이 그분의 말씀과 새로운 관계를 맺지 않았다면 당신은 그분과 새로운 관계를 맺지 않은 것입니다.

The greatest evidence that you're a christian is the fact that right now you're in the Word and God's pointing out to you your sins.
당신이 그리스도인이라는 가장 확실한 증거는 당신이 지금 이 순간 말씀 안에 있고 그분이 당신의 죄를 지적하고 있다는 사실입니다.

Do you love Jesus?
예수님을 사랑하십니까?

What do you think about most?
무엇에 대해 가장 많이 생각하십니까?

'Cuz that's what you love.
왜냐하면 당신은 바로 그것을 사랑하기 때문입니다.

All your wealth, all your health, all your relations...
당신의 모든 부귀, 모든 건강, 모든 관계들...

Everything you have is dung if Jesus is not Lord and Savior and passion of your life.
만약 예수님께서 당신의 삶의 주, 구원자, 열정이 아니시면 당신의 모든 것은 배설물입니다.

He is not some accessory... He is the very source of your life!
그분은 무슨 악세사리가 아니라... 바로 당신의 생명의 근원 그 자체입니다!

Is He yours?
그분은 당신의 것입니까?
